I know, it’s been an intense more than a year of a pandemic. As a teacher, you may be asking yourself, “Is anyone going to want to do a summer review THIS year? Is it worth sending home summer review packets?”
You may also be thinking our summer packets are cute… BUT you think this summer no kid (or parent, for that matter) is going to want to do summer learning, so why go to the trouble?

Let me tell you two crucial reasons why this is not the case:
Our summer review packets are simple and easy
Kids (and parents) need a break for their mental health. Absolutely, 100% true. That is why we made these activities so they can be done in a reasonable amount of time… PLUS they are much more fun than your average school-work, too.
My kids LOVE doing the activities included in the summer learning and it is something fun we can do together. And they really take away the stress from parents having to find resources to use with their kids, so it’s a win-win.
The great thing is that there is SO much content included that you don’t have to do it all, only the parts your kids will enjoy the most! Especially the reading and writing activities can be easily adapted to students interests to help them be more invested in their learning.
I have a whole blog post called, “What’s included in our summer learning packets?” that has all the details about what is included but here is a brief list:
- Math fluency practice and review
- Reading comprehension activities that can be used with ANY book
- Art activities
- Summer themed language arts and math board games
Our comprehensive, standards-based packets can help combat learning loss
The summer slide isn’t going away. If anything, there may have been even more learning loss over the past year. And while mental health is #1, having a fun resource to help kids get caught up (or even ahead!) before the next school year will help them have a more successful school year next year.
These aren’t just fluffy packets- they are FUN, but they also hit all the core standards for the grade level to make sure kids are right on-track. As we designed these packets we wanted to make sure that we weren’t designing cute, busy work. Instead we made sure they align to the Common Core standards and that they review all the important skills students learn in a given school year.
Our summer review packets are designed as just that, a review! We recommend that you purchase packets for the grade level that your students are just completing to help them review what they have learned this school year.
The end of the year is fast approaching! By grabbing these packets now you can get them all prepped to go before the end of the school year so you can relax and enjoy your summer!
