Get kids thinking deeper about math by creating a story problem… backwards! Our 36 Weeks of Backwards Story Problems should take no longer than a few minutes each day, so they are easy to fit into your schedule while packing a powerful punch! The children are given an answer and need to come up with a problem that has their answer. Then, they will brainstorm who and what the problem is about, write the problem, and draw a picture.

Summer Review

I will be using this in the fall with my class. My grandson has been using them to help keep his skills ready for third grade.

Looks awesome!

I haven’t been able to use it yet because school hasn’t started; however, I like how it gives the students a chance to list ALL they know instead of one answer and they have creative freedom to write about any WHO and WHAT they choose. Very student centered with multiple areas being practiced (math, grammar, writing).

Critical Thinking at Its Best

These offer students the chance to really think about a problem. It also gives them the chance to see that if they can work backwards to write a problem, they can see how to easily solve these problems in the future when they see it from the beginning.

Always great when a product also includes a digital option for completing paper-less.

These provide students the opportunity to create lists of equations that equal a given number and then turn those into a math story problem and a written short story (which is a nice writing connection). Each week is broken down into day sections so students can do just one part at a time.

Having purchased the multi-level bundle means I can differentiate for my students as needed while providing the same ultimate format for everyone.
